Fury v Wilder Tips and Selected Odds

Boxing experts are finding this very tough to call, with many fancying Fury to go one better than their initial bout in December 2018, which ended in a controversial draw. The big man Fury looks in great shape and so he definitely has every chance. Given the punching power of both fighters this one is highly unlikely to go the distance this time around with neither wanting to take the chance of another ropey decision (one way or the other).

That means if you fancy Fury to win, backing him to knock Wilder out is probably the way to go. We fancy that’s a solid bet at normal odds, but this 9/1 offer gives you options!

Many everyday boxing fans underrated Fury last time around but pros and those in the know rated the eccentric as one of the best around. His intelligence and movement make him very hard to hit and the way he totally out-boxed Wladimir Klitschko backs that up. He duly delivered and almost pulled off an upset last time. This time around things are decidedly even in terms of their relative chances of success.

Wilder hits unbelievably hard, is fast, mean and is himself, perhaps, not rated as highly by many as he should be. This promises to be some rematch.

Let’s take a look at some of the odds (which are correct at the time of writing and subject to change):

  • Wilder by KO/TKO/DQ – 13/10 with Ladbrokes
  • Fury by decision or technical – 17/10 with Betfair
  • Fury by KO – 14/1 at bet365
  • Fury in round 8 – 100/1 with bet365
  • Fury in round 7 – 80/1 with bet365

In truth we think that Fury offers real value here. His size and know-how make him so hard to land punches against and he cannot be bullied. His KO ratio is quite low for a big man but we think he has what it takes to knock Wilder out.

80/1 or even 100/1 are the odds for a number of rounds when it comes to the betting for a Fury win. That’s the price for rounds 6 to 10 inclusive and we think somewhere in the middle probably looks the best shout.

However, why back him to win in round 8 at 100/1 when you can also back him at 100/1 in ANY round with this BetVictor offer?!
