Tottenham v Man United – Betting Tips and Pointers – 13th January 2019
Since former United frontman Ole Gunnar Solskjær took the manager’s job at this massive club, the side has won five on the bounce. Okay, the five teams in question were Huddersfield, Bournemouth, Cardiff, Newcastle and Reading, but games still have to be won, and win them they did.
It is of course a different proposition facing one of the better sides in the land, and Spurs certainly fall into that category. Currently sitting third in the Premier League table on 28 points from 21 games, six behind leaders Liverpool, Mauricio Pochettino’s men have been in solid form for much of the season. A recent slip-up against Wolves has been forgiven after winning three in a row, including a 1-0 victory over Chelsea in the League Cup semi final first leg on Tuesday.
United, meanwhile are flying high themselves, at least in relation to the mood at the club just before Jose Mourinho was shown the door. Since Solskjær has come in, the change in the attitude of some of the players has been palpable, which really begs questions about their professionalism. Those being kind to the likes of Paul Pogba would suggest that Mourinho’s alienating style meant there was no way the French star would shine, but we’ll never know how much was to do with wilful reluctance to perform.
Hard Fought Match Could Go Either Way
As you will see from the recent head to head stats between the sides, things have rarely ended all-square. Of the last eight games between them in all competitions, Man United have won four and Spurs have won four.
For us, though, the momentum brought about by the managerial change at Man United just gives them the edge and we think backing them at the standard odds of 5/2 looks like decent value – but if you are able to claim the 20/1 enhanced odds offer from 888sport, it’s an outstanding bet!Tottenham v Man United Head to Head
