Ajax v Spurs – Betting Tips and Pointers – 8th May 2019

The Champions League final beckons for either Ajax or Spurs on Wednesday, but which side will rise to the challenge in this semi-final 2nd leg?

There is no doubt that Mauricio Pochettino would prefer his side to be ahead after the first match against the Dutch side. But playing away from home in the second leg might prove advantageous to Spurs as they will be pushing for a much more open game than the first and could capitalise.

Ajax have been something of a revelation in this season’s Champions League and have already put both Real Madrid and Juventus to the sword. If they are able to keep the composure they have shown thus far in the competition, they might well see this one out.

Tottenham have nothing to lose in really going for it from the start in Amsterdam, however. And if the visitors get an early goal it will pile the pressure on the home team. Ajax will be in two minds about how much to attack and how much to avoid conceding, which will hand the impetus to Spurs.

All in all this could go either way, but we think Spurs might just edge the victory with the game possibly ending up in extra time and perhaps penalties.
