BetVictor is a business with a turnover of around £1bn and customers in well over 150 countries – in other words, they are one of the big boys. They offer the full range of gaming options (including an excellent mobile casino) but their sportsbook is where it all started and what they are best known for. Victor Jr. (his father who founded the bookmaking firm in 1946 was also Victor) has been at the helm since 1975 and is famed for his reputation as the “Gentleman bookmaker”. That reputation is based on the fact that he isn’t afraid to take a position on a market and has a refined, old-fashioned, honourable way of doing business.
That said, BetVictor are also renowned for being innovative, being one of the first UK bookmakers to operate offshore (in Gibraltar where the company are licensed and regulated). That modernising streak also means their mobile betting offering is at the forefront, whilst their in-play betting console is also top notch. With excellent odds and no question marks at all over their integrity and security BetVictor is first grade betting option.

BetVictor score very, very highly in the offers and promotions department, despite the fact that the opening £30 free bet is not as enticing as that offered by some betting rivals (though it is a 300% matched offer). The reason for that is that in terms of regular and ongoing promotions they are pretty much one of the best bookmakers around.
Before we get to that though, let’s look at the £30 free bet on offer for new customers first opening a BetVictor account. It is a 300% match of your first bet with them, provided that bet is placed within 7 days of opening the account and is at odds of evens (2.00) or above. Your free bet comes in the form of “Promo Cash” and will be credited within two business days of placing the qualifying bet.
This is where BetVictor lose a few points because their process is not as simple as at some other bookmakers. Any winnings from your Promo Cash are returned to your account, but not the stake itself. However, in addition you also have to wager an amount equal to four times the Promo Cash before you can withdraw those winnings.
That may seem slightly convoluted but for the recreational gambler who has a few bets a week it should be no real problem, especially because their odds are so good!
They had a mobile free bet offer for the Ashes series offering a free bet of £10 in return for placing an in-play £10 bet, whilst they also had a similar free bet promotion for the Tour De France. We also like the fact that the live chat option is very easily accessed, rather than being hidden behind layers and layers of alternative help and contact methods as is the case at some rivals.
